From one freelance website to 250+ businesses worldwide

Built on doing the work, not selling it

I started freelancing in 2017 with no team, no office and no big client list — just a laptop, a willingness to learn on every project, and a habit of answering emails properly instead of disappearing after the invoice. That first year was mostly small websites for local businesses in Hampshire, but the same principle that runs through everything I do now was already there: build something that actually works, and be straightforward about what it costs and how long it'll take.

Since then the work has scaled a long way past that first laptop. I've built and shipped 50+ apps and web platforms — from simple booking tools to full custom systems — and worked directly with more than 250 businesses across the world, from sole traders in the New Forest to companies I've never met in person on other continents. Every project taught me something that made the next one better, whether that was a PHP framework quirk, a client communication lesson, or a Google algorithm update that broke someone's rankings overnight.

In 2025 I formalised something I'd been doing informally for a while: SEO. Clients kept asking not just "can you build this" but "can you make sure people find it" — so I built out a proper local SEO and Google Ads service alongside the development work. Today the two go hand in hand: a fast, well-built website is only half the job if nobody searching for your service can find it.
